How to Transact on Airtel Money in Kenya

How to Send Money from M-PESA to Airtel Money

Airtel Money has become an indispensable tool for millions of Kenyans, offering seamless mobile transactions that cater to a wide range of financial needs. Deposit Money

  1. Visit an Agent: Locate any Airtel Money agent or Airtel Shop near you with the help of *100#. Bring your original identification document for verification.
  2. Inform and Deposit: Inform the agent of the amount you wish to deposit. Hand over the cash to the agent.
  3. Transfer and Confirmation: The agent will transfer e-value to your Airtel Money account. You’ll receive an SMS notification from Airtel Money confirming the successful deposit.

Send Money

  1. Dial *334#: Access the Airtel Money menu from your Airtel mobile phone.
  2. Select Send Money: Follow the prompts to select “Send Money”.
  3. Recipient Details: Choose the network of the recipient (Airtel or other networks), enter their phone number, specify the amount, and input your PIN.
  4. Confirmation: You will receive an SMS confirming the successful transaction.

Note: If you send money to the wrong Airtel number, you can reverse the transaction by dialing *334#, selecting “My Account”, then “Reverse transaction”. Alternatively, contact Airtel customer service at 100 for assistance.

Withdraw Money

  1. Visit an Agent: Go to your nearest Airtel Money agent, ensuring you have your original identification document.
  2. Confirm Availability: Verify with the agent if they have enough float for your withdrawal.
  3. Initiate Withdrawal: Dial *334#, select “Withdraw Money”, enter the agent code, specify the amount you wish to withdraw, and enter your PIN.
  4. Confirmation: You’ll receive an SMS from Airtel Money confirming the successful withdrawal.

Buy Airtime

  1. Dial *334#: Access the Airtel Money menu on your phone.
  2. Select Buy Airtime: Choose between “Self” (for your own number) or “Other Number” (for another Airtel number).
  3. Specify Amount: Enter the amount of airtime you wish to purchase and input your PIN.
  4. Bonus Airtime: Every purchase of airtime via Airtel Money includes an additional 25% airtime bonus valid for 24 hours.
