You can send money from Kenya to South Sudan on mobile using services like Airtel Money and dedicated money transfer apps such as Mukuru and WorldRemit. Transfers can be received via mobile money accounts like MTN MoMo, Zaino Cash, or as cash pickups.

Using Airtel Money

Airtel Money allows direct transfers from Kenya to South Sudan. Recipients can receive the money in their local mobile money wallets, such as those provided by MTN or Zain.

  • Dial *185*1*4# on your Airtel line.
  • Select the option for “International Transfer” or “Send Through Juba Express”.
  • Choose the destination country (South Sudan).
  • Enter the recipient’s phone number and the amount to send.
  • Confirm the transaction details to complete the transfer.

Using Third-Party Mobile Transfer Apps

Apps like WorldRemit and Mukuru facilitate transfers from Kenya to South Sudan, offering various payout options. You can pay using your M-PESA wallet, a bank transfer, or a debit/credit card.

  • Mukuru: Provides services for cash pickup and potentially mobile wallet deposits. You can place an order via their app or website.

Using M-PESA Global via Partners

M-PESA Global can be used to send money to South Sudan through its partnerships with global money transfer operators like Western Union.

Via the M-PESA App or USSD

  1. Access the M-PESA Global service on the M-PESA App or by dialing *334#.
  2. Select a partner like Western Union.
  3. Choose the option to send money to a cash pickup location or a bank account, as direct mobile wallet integration might not be available through this specific channel.
  4. Enter the recipient’s information and the amount in KES.
  5. Confirm the transaction and share the resulting Money Transfer Control Number (MTCN) with the recipient for them to collect the cash.
