As Kenyans across the country come together to celebrate Madaraka Day on 1st June, we are reminded of the courage, vision, and determination that laid the foundation for Kenya’s self-governance. This significant day marks the moment in 1963 when Kenya took charge of its internal affairs, setting the nation on a path toward full independence and democratic progress.
In a heartfelt message to the people of Kenya, Senator Godfrey Osotsi, who serves as the ODM Deputy Party Leader, extends warm Madaraka Day wishes to all citizens. With the Kenyan flag proudly waving above him, Senator Osotsi’s tribute underscores the importance of honoring our national heroes while embracing the spirit of unity and development.
“Let us use this day not only to reflect on how far we have come as a nation, but also to renew our commitment to the ideals of justice, equity, and inclusive growth,” the Senator urges.
A staunch advocate for democratic values and institutional accountability, Senator Osotsi continues to champion progressive policies within the Senate and the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party. His leadership echoes the aspirations of a modern Kenya—empowered, responsible, and forward-looking.
As we celebrate this year’s Madaraka Day, may it inspire every Kenyan to play their part in building a stronger, more inclusive future. Let the flag remind us of our shared identity, and may our actions reflect the true meaning of freedom and self-rule.
Happy Madaraka Day, Kenya!
From: Senator Godfrey Osotsi
ODM Deputy Party Leader
