Xiaomi’s second EV, the YU7, is getting ever so close to its official debut. Recent spy photos reveal a cabin designed for tech enthusiasts and comfort-seekers alike. Xiaomi, known for its smart devices and its highly successful SU7 electric sedan, is bringing that expertise into this new electric SUV.
One of the standout features is the absence of a traditional dashboard. Instead, drivers will rely on a Panoramic Head-Up Display (PHUD), which projects essential driving information onto the windshield, keeping the driver’s eyes on the road. The center console houses an infotainment screen, a bit smaller than the one found in the Xiaomi SU7 sedan. This screen runs on Xiaomi’s HyperOS, offering seamless integration with other Xiaomi devices.
The YU7’s steering wheel looks both stylish and functional. Wrapped in Alcantara and carbon fiber, it delivers a premium feel. The flat-bottom design adds a sporty touch, while physical buttons allow easy access to key functions. A bright red “Boost Mode” button provides quick bursts of performance, and another button activates the car’s advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS).
Luxurious and High-Tech Interior
Inside, the YU7 is all about premium materials, as revealed in spy photos showcasing dual-tone purple and cream leather upholstery. The driver’s seat features an electric legrest, enhancing comfort on long journeys. Wireless charging pads and electronic door handles add to the futuristic experience. A discreet roof-mounted LiDAR sensor suggests the YU7 will offer advanced autonomous driving capabilities.
While the interior takes center stage, exterior leaks showcase a sleek design, with hidden door handles, a panoramic sunroof, a transparent U-shaped taillight, and an active spoiler.
Launch Date and Pricing
The Xiaomi YU7 is set to launch in June 2025, with an expected starting price of around RMB 250,000 yuan (€30,800). The SUV is likely to feature a dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup, utilizing an 800V electrical architecture, enabling fast charging and an estimated range of over 700 km.
