Eddie Griffin, a well-known comedian who transitioned into acting and began his career as a dare, has amassed a devoted following since entering the comic world in 1990.
Eddie, who was raised in Kansas City, Missouri, won the title of class clown in his final three years of high school. Dancing has always been his first love, and at the tender age of 16, he had started his own dance school and was choreographing halftime displays for the Kansas City Chiefs. All of that, however, was about to change when his cousin one evening dared him to perform on stage at the neighborhood comedy club Sanford and Sons, where he was given three minutes. He succeeded in doing 45 minutes of spontaneous acting.
He portrayed The Pastor in the 2018 Academy Award–winning picture A Star is Born, with Dave Chappelle, Lady Gaga, and Bradley Cooper.
To overwhelmingly positive reviews, his Showtime comedy special Eddie Griffin: Undeniable had its Showtime debut in February 2018.
