Sensors in mobile devices are built-in components that detect and respond to physical input from the environment, enabling a wide range of features and enhancing user interaction. Common sensors include the accelerometer (detects movement and orientation), gyroscope (measures rotation), proximity sensor (turns off the screen during calls), ambient light sensor (adjusts screen brightness), magnetometer (enables compass functions), and fingerprint sensor (for biometric security). Advanced smartphones may also include barometers, heart rate monitors, face recognition sensors, and LiDAR. These sensors work together to support functions like auto-rotate, fitness tracking, navigation, and secure unlocking.
