Cat 6 (Category 6) is a high-performance Ethernet cable standard designed to support faster data transmission and improved signal integrity compared to its predecessors. It supports speeds up to 10 Gbps over short distances (up to 55 meters) and 1 Gbps over longer runs (up to 100 meters), with a frequency range of up to 250 MHz. Cat 6 cables feature tighter twists and enhanced shielding to reduce crosstalk and electromagnetic interference, making them ideal for modern high-speed networks in homes, businesses, and data centers.
