Bada OS was a mobile operating system developed by Samsung Electronics, introduced in 2009 and officially launched in 2010. Designed for mid- to high-end smartphones, Bada (which means “ocean” in Korean) aimed to combine the flexibility of open platforms with strong integration of Samsung hardware. It featured a user-friendly interface, support for touchscreen gestures, multitasking, and apps through the Samsung Apps store. Despite initial promise, Bada OS struggled to gain market traction and was eventually merged into the Tizen platform in 2013, marking the end of its development and support.
