The BYD Dolphin Surf Boost, launched in May 2025, is an affordable electric hatchback built on the BYD e-Platform 3.0, designed for city commutes and efficient driving. Powered by the 43.2 kWh usable Blade LFP battery, it offers a real-world range of 270 km, with cold and mild weather performance ranging from 190–410 km.
Under the hood, the front-wheel drive motor delivers 65 kW (88 PS) and 175 Nm of torque, taking the Dolphin Surf from 0 to 100 km/h in 12.1 seconds and reaching a top speed of 150 km/h. It’s highly efficient, consuming just 160 Wh/km, making it ideal for daily use.
The battery supports fast charging up to 85 kW, reaching 80% in 32 minutes, while standard AC home charging at 11 kW completes a full charge in 4h45m. Bidirectional charging is available via V2L (Vehicle-to-Load) with 3.3 kW output.
Despite its compact size, the Dolphin Surf seats four and offers 308 L boot space, expandable to 1037 L. It includes modern safety and efficiency features, making it a strong competitor in the compact EV market.
