Brockway Farm Tractors: A Short-Lived Legacy of Utility Machinery

Brockway Farm Tractors emerged in the late 1940s from the remnants of the Leader tractor brand. Based in Bedford, Ohio, the Brockway Tractor Company was established by the Brockway family after being forced out of their previous venture by creditors. Undeterred, the family launched a new line of utility tractors under their name in 1949.

Although the Brockway brand was short-lived, operating only until the early 1950s, it remains a noteworthy chapter in American agricultural machinery history. The tractors were robustly designed for general utility work on small and mid-sized farms.

Only two known models were produced during this period, both running from 1949 to 1952. Below is a table of the Brockway tractor models:

Today, Brockway tractors are rare and considered collectible by vintage farm equipment enthusiasts. While technical specifications such as horsepower remain undocumented for these models, their design and legacy still draw attention from restoration experts and tractor shows.
