iPhone 17 Air to Be the Only Titanium Model, All Four to Feature 35W Charging

February 19, 2025 – Apple is set to equip all iPhone 17 models with Samsung’s high-end M14 OLED panel, marking the first time in years that both Pro and non-Pro models will feature the same top-tier display technology.

  • What Makes the Samsung M14 OLED Panel Special?
  • Will Non-Pro Models Get Pro Features?
  • Implications for iPhone 17 Buyers

What Makes the Samsung M14 OLED Panel Special?

The M14 panel features:
✅ A special light-emitting layer for improved color accuracy.
✅ Advanced pixel composition for higher brightness and longer lifespan.
✅ Up to 30% higher brightness than the previous M13 panel used in iPhone 16 Pro models.

Apple previously used older M12 OLED panels for non-Pro iPhones, while only iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max received M14 displays.

Will Non-Pro Models Get Pro Features?

While all iPhone 17 models will use the same OLED panel, it is unclear whether Apple will enable:
❌ ProMotion (120Hz refresh rate) – May still be exclusive to Pro models.
❌ Always-On Display – Could remain a Pro-exclusive feature.

Implications for iPhone 17 Buyers

🔹 Better display consistency across all models.
🔹 Higher brightness and longevity for non-Pro iPhones.
🔹 Potentially wider gap in ProMotion and other Pro-exclusive display features.

This move aligns with Apple’s push toward standardizing premium components, ensuring that even non-Pro iPhones benefit from flagship-level OLED technology.
