Airtel Kenya has announced the launch of unlimited 5G data plans, aiming to capitalize on the increasing number of users with 5G-capable devices in the country. With over 690 5G sites currently active nationwide and plans to expand by an additional 300 sites across 39 counties within the year, Airtel is committed to enhancing its 5G network infrastructure. The company initially launched its 5G network last year with 370 live sites.

Pricing and Plans
Airtel has introduced three tiers for their unlimited 5G data plans, each with varying speeds and prices:
- 10Mbps Plan: Ksh 3,500 monthly
- 20Mbps Plan: Ksh 5,000 monthly
- 30Mbps Plan: Ksh 6,500 monthly
To utilize these plans, customers will need the Airtel 5G home router.
5G Home Router
In addition to the new data plans, Airtel has significantly reduced the price of its 5G home router from Ksh 10,000 to Ksh 3,000, making it more accessible to a broader audience. The router also features up to 5 hours of reserve battery power, ensuring continuous connectivity during power outages.
Fair Usage Policy (FUP)
Each plan comes with a fair usage policy to ensure optimal performance and network stability:
- 10Mbps Plan: 1TB data cap
- 20Mbps Plan: 1.5TB data cap
- 30Mbps Plan: 3TB data cap
Customers can only consume one data plan at a time but have the flexibility to upgrade or downgrade their plan once the current plan lapses.
Enrollment
To enroll in the unlimited data plans, customers can:
- Purchase the router from any Airtel shop nationwide
- Dial *100# on their Airtel line for further assistance
Airtel’s new 5G plans and reduced router prices are part of their broader strategy to enhance digital connectivity in Kenya, providing users with faster and more reliable internet services.
