The United Pan-Africanist Movement (UPAM) has joined the global community in mourning the passing of Raila Amolo Odinga, describing him as one of Africa’s greatest sons and a steadfast advocate for democracy and Pan-African unity. In a heartfelt message released by the UPAM Global Executive, the movement hailed Odinga’s lifelong dedication to justice, equality, and liberation across the African continent.
Led by President Benedicto Mbango, Vice President Dr. Priscilia Tsongwain, and Executive Administrator Iweobi Prisca Ogonna, UPAM expressed profound sorrow at the loss of a man whose voice and vision transcended borders. “Raila Odinga embodied the true spirit of African independence — a man who believed in freedom not only for his people but for all Africans,” the statement read. “He was a bridge between generations, a reformist whose courage inspired movements of resistance and renewal.”
