Authorities in Ruai are investigating a shocking case involving rogue police officers who allegedly raided the home of a woman over the suspected theft of KSh 20 million, reportedly belonging to a sitting senator.
The woman, who is the estranged lover of the senator, filed a police report claiming that men identifying themselves as police officers stormed her house in search of the missing money.
How the Raid Unfolded
According to the official police report:
✔️ Three of the officers claimed to be from Njathaini Police Station.
✔️ They forcefully entered her home and went straight to her bedroom.
✔️ The officers searched her suitcase and took:
- USD 15,000 (KSh 1.9 million)
- KSh 200,000 in cash
After taking the money, the officers forcibly abducted the woman, bundling her into a silver Toyota Allion.
“Upon gaining entry into the house, the first three officers from Njathaini Police Station went straight into her bedroom and took USD 15,000 (KSh 1.9M) and KSh 200,000, which was inside a suitcase, before leaving,” the report read.
Allegations of Torture and Life Threats
The woman further claimed that she was driven around Ruai and Mwiki, but at no point was she taken to a police station.
During this time, the officers allegedly:
✔️ Tortured her and issued life threats.
✔️ Pressured her to reveal the location of the missing KSh 20 million.
✔️ Released her in the early hours of the morning after failing to obtain any further information.
“Later on, they returned her to her house in the wee hours of the morning after torture and life threats,” the police report added.
Police Officers Linked to the Incident
Following an investigation by officers from Kamulu Police Station, it has been confirmed that two officers from Njathaini Police Station have been linked to the Sunday evening raid.
✔️ The officers are now under investigation, and another male suspect—whose occupation remains unknown—has also been implicated in the incident.
What’s Next?
Authorities are working to determine:
✔️ If the missing KSh 20 million belongs to the senator.
✔️ Whether the officers acted under official instructions or as part of an illegal scheme.
✔️ If more people were involved in the raid and abduction.
With police misconduct and corruption remaining a serious issue in Kenya, this case could expose a wider network of rogue officers engaged in intimidation, extortion, and abuse of power.
For now, the senator has not publicly commented on the allegations, but the incident raises serious legal and ethical concerns about the misuse of law enforcement resources for personal disputes.
