The iQOO 15 teaser campaign is now officially underway. On July 31, iQOO confirmed its next flagship won’t be the iQOO 14 as expected, but will skip straight to iQOO 15—a move likely motivated by tetraphobia, the fear of the number four in some East Asian cultures.
Launched via Weibo, the teaser comes ahead of a possible unveiling in late September, aligning with rumors that the iQOO 15 will debut alongside the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chipset, which is set to launch on September 23.
Chinese leaker Digital Chat Station suggests that iQOO is racing against other brands like Xiaomi (Mi 16 series), Honor (Magic8), and Realme (GT 8 Pro) to release their flagships before China’s October 1 National Day.
Though full specs are still under wraps, iQOO has already planned a public showcase. On August 1 in Shanghai, the brand will host a competition where winners will walk away with an iQOO 15 unit, marking the first public appearance of the device.
Leaked specifications point to a 6.85-inch QHD+ flat LTPO OLED panel manufactured by Samsung, making it one of the most premium displays on any iQOO phone to date. The phone is also expected to include a 50 MP periscope telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom, an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner, and 100W fast wired charging. Wireless charging support is also rumored, bringing the iQOO lineup closer to ultra-flagship territory.
The move to launch this early suggests iQOO’s aggressive strategy to be among the first Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 phones. This new chip is expected to deliver significant gains in AI processing, gaming performance, and thermal efficiency, making the iQOO 15 a likely benchmark leader.
With this teaser now live and the chipset announcement only weeks away, fans can expect more concrete information on the iQOO 15’s design, software, and price soon.
