iOS 26: New Features To Expect Ahead of June 9 Launch

Apple is set to introduce iOS 26 new features during its annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) on June 9, 2025, promising updates that enhance everyday apps like Messages, Music, Notes, and CarPlay. As anticipation builds ahead of the keynote, leaks and beta insights suggest that iOS 26 will focus on improved user interaction, cross-language communication, and greater customization.

  • Messages: Automatic Translation and Polls
  • Music: Animated Lock Screen Artwork
  • Notes: Markdown Export
  • CarPlay: Refreshed Interface

Messages: Automatic Translation and Polls

The Messages app will receive a major upgrade with automatic translation—a feature that translates both incoming and outgoing texts in real time. This addition is aimed at streamlining global communication and helping users engage in multilingual conversations without switching apps or tools.

Apple is also adding the ability to create polls within chats, aligning Messages more closely with competing platforms like WhatsApp and Telegram. AI integration is expected to suggest poll structures based on the content of ongoing conversations, making the experience intuitive and interactive.

Music: Animated Lock Screen Artwork

Apple Music will gain a more dynamic and visually appealing Lock Screen. Animated album artwork will now appear in the “Now Playing” section, creating a seamless extension of the rich visuals already available within the Music app. This update is designed to enhance user engagement during playback while maintaining a sleek aesthetic.

Notes: Markdown Export

For productivity users, iOS 26 introduces Markdown export in the Notes app. This allows notes to be exported using Markdown syntax, making it easier for developers, writers, and students to integrate content into third-party tools or coding environments. This feature marks a notable step toward bridging Apple’s native apps with broader productivity workflows.

CarPlay: Refreshed Interface

CarPlay is also receiving a facelift. iOS 26 brings a new interface design that reflects the overall iOS aesthetic—clean, consistent, and modern. The redesign is expected to make in-car navigation and media control more user-friendly, particularly with updated layouts for maps, messages, and music playback.

With Apple gearing up for the WWDC 2025 keynote, users can expect a deep dive into these features and possibly more. The iOS 26 beta will likely roll out to developers immediately after the event, with a public beta to follow in the coming weeks.

As Apple continues refining its ecosystem, the iOS 26 new features demonstrate a strong push toward smarter, more connected, and more customizable experiences—whether you’re messaging across borders, working on documents, or driving through town.
