Honor is preparing to unveil its next-generation foldable — the Honor Magic V Flip 2 — with a launch expected in August 2025. A new leak from China reveals exciting upgrades, including a redesigned camera layout, improved battery life, and a reworked external display interface.
According to sources, the Honor Magic V Flip 2 will house its dual cameras in identically sized cutouts, a shift from the 2024 model’s vertical layout, which featured a larger primary 50MP sensor cutout above a smaller 12MP ultrawide lens. While sensor specs haven’t been confirmed, enhanced imaging performance is reportedly on the way.
The cover screen interface is also getting a major overhaul. Honor plans to deliver a more intuitive, user-friendly experience on the external display, taking cues from recent updates seen on rival flip phones like the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Motorola Razr 60.
Battery life is set to improve too. Earlier rumors suggested the Magic V Flip 2 will pack a larger battery with either 66W or 80W fast charging support—both significant upgrades over the previous model.
Powering the foldable will likely be a new Snapdragon 8 series chipset, although the exact version remains unclear. Whether it’s the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 or a custom variant, the chip should bring a meaningful performance leap.
As competition intensifies in the foldable market, the Honor Magic V Flip 2 looks to offer refined design, faster charging, improved multitasking, and better camera quality, placing it among the top contenders in the clamshell foldable space.
