Google has rolled out a significant update to its AI Mode in Search, which now spans 180 countries and territories, though it is still only available in English and not in EU countries yet. The exciting part? AI Mode now features agentic capabilities, starting with restaurant reservations.
Users can now request dinner reservations with specific constraints such as party size, date, time, location, and preferred cuisine. The AI will search multiple platforms like OpenTable, Resy, Tock, and more, finding real-time availability for restaurants that meet the user’s criteria. Once a match is found, AI Mode presents a curated list of options with direct links to make a reservation, simplifying the entire process.
Google is also planning to expand this feature to include local service appointments and event tickets, making it even more versatile. This feature is available through the Google Search Labs experiment for those subscribed to Google AI Ultra in the US.
Another notable addition is the Share functionality. This allows users in the US to share any AI Mode results with others, whether for planning a trip or a special event. Links can be easily shared and deleted as needed.
This feature brings a new level of convenience, providing personalized recommendations by factoring in your previous searches and conversations, ensuring you’re always shown relevant and tailored results.
