On November 7, 2025, the Federation of Kenya Employers (FKE) unveiled the prestigious list of Kenya’s top employers during the 5th Edition of the Employer of the Year Awards (EYA) Gala Dinner held in Nairobi. The event recognized organizations that have demonstrated exceptional leadership, innovation, and commitment to creating inclusive and productive work environments. These awards highlight the best practices that contribute to improving employee satisfaction and boosting company performance.
Celebrating Leadership and Corporate Governance
In the Leadership and Governance category, Kabarak University took the lead as the top employer, with Absa Bank Kenya securing second place and KenGen coming in third. These organizations were acknowledged for their effective management strategies and commitment to fostering strong governance practices. In the Corporate Governance category, KenPoly triumphed, followed by WWF – World Wildlife Fund and Liberty Life Insurance, both of which were recognized for their transparency and ethical management.
Innovation and Workplace Excellence
The Innovation and Productivity category saw Sama Sours emerge as the frontrunner, followed by Jubilee Insurance and Mombasa DT Port Sacco. These companies were lauded for their creative solutions and contributions to enhancing industry standards. Responsible Business Conduct was awarded to Coca-Cola Beverages Africa, with Old Mutual and Williamson Holdings earning second and third positions for their ethical business practices and corporate responsibility efforts.
Inclusivity and Diversity in the Workplace
The Inclusiveness and Diversity award was claimed by CPF Financial Services, followed by VSO International and Bomu Hospital. These organizations have demonstrated strong efforts towards promoting equality and diversity in their workplaces. For the Workplace Environment category, Cigna Insurance was recognized as the best, with Airflow and AAR Insurance securing second and third places for their focus on creating supportive and health-conscious environments for their employees.
Learning, Development, and Human Resources
In the Learning and Development category, Kenya Reinsurance Corporation took the top spot, ahead of Strathmore University and HACCO Industries. These organizations are committed to employee growth through continuous learning opportunities. The Human Resource Practice & Industrial Relations category saw English Press win first place, with Kenya Seed Company Ltd and Tropical Heat following closely behind.
Special Recognitions and SME Success
Laiser Insurance and NSSF were honored with special recognitions for their significant contributions in specific categories. The SME Category was won by DHL Global, with VSO International and Fratch Group taking second and third places.
Employer of the Year 2025
The most anticipated announcement of the evening was the Employer of the Year 2025, where CPF Financial Services was crowned the overall winner, followed by Coca-Cola Beverages Africa in second and Kabarak University in third. These organizations have shown outstanding commitment to their employees, making them stand out as the best employers in Kenya for 2025.
FKE’s Dr. Gilda Odera congratulated all the winners and urged other organizations to learn from the best practices highlighted during the awards. She emphasized that the feedback from the verification process of the awards would help employers improve and build stronger, more successful organizations.
