Push refers to a communication method where data or notifications are sent automatically from a server to a client device without the device having to request it. Common in mobile and web applications, push technology enables real-time updates such as app notifications, emails, news alerts, or system messages. Examples include push notifications on smartphones, where apps alert users about new messages or events, and push email, where messages are instantly delivered as they arrive. Push improves responsiveness and user engagement by keeping information current and eliminating the need for constant manual checking or data polling by the device.
