A PDA, or Personal Digital Assistant, is a handheld electronic device that was widely used in the 1990s and early 2000s for managing personal information such as contacts, calendars, notes, and tasks. Equipped with a touchscreen or stylus input, PDAs often featured basic applications like email, web browsing, and document editing. Some models also supported wireless connectivity, multimedia playback, and GPS. Although largely replaced by smartphones, PDAs were groundbreaking in mobile computing, laying the foundation for modern mobile operating systems and app ecosystems. Brands like Palm, BlackBerry, and early Windows Mobile devices were among the most popular PDAs.
