CyanogenMod was a popular open-source operating system based on the Android platform, developed and maintained by a community of developers to offer enhanced features, performance, and customization options beyond what was available in stock Android. It supported a wide range of devices and included features such as root access, theme support, privacy controls, and system tweaks. CyanogenMod aimed to provide a cleaner, faster, and more flexible user experience, especially for tech-savvy users and enthusiasts. The project was discontinued in 2016 and succeeded by LineageOS, which continues the mission of offering a customizable, community-driven Android experience.
