A circuit is a closed loop or pathway that allows electric current to flow, enabling the operation of electrical and electronic devices. It consists of interconnected components such as resistors, capacitors, transistors, wires, and power sources (like batteries or power supplies). Circuits can be simple, like a flashlight, or highly complex, as seen in computers and smartphones. There are two main types: analog circuits, which handle continuous signals, and digital circuits, which process binary data. Proper circuit design is essential for reliable and efficient electronic systems.
