Burn refers to the process of permanently writing or recording data onto optical storage media such as CDs, DVDs, or Blu-ray discs using a laser. This process is typically done using disc-burning software and a compatible optical drive. Once burned, the data on write-once discs cannot be changed, while rewritable discs can be erased and burned again. Burning is commonly used for creating backups, distributing software, or storing media content like music and videos.
