How to get a vehicle (advertisement) wrapping permit in Qatar. A vehicle wrap is made up of a flexible material and can be easily wrapped on a part of, or the whole vehicle. You can just about have anything printed on the vehicle and it will give it a whole new look that will be viewed by hundreds of people a day as you move through the city.
Documents required for vehicle wrapping permit (private)
- Qatar ID copy of the applicant
- Completed vehicle advertisement permit license form.
- 2 x vehicle wrapping sketches (not less than 50% of the artwork must be
in Arabic, and the rest can be in English) of all four sides of the vehicle on a single paper with dimensions clearly marked. The sketches must be stamped by the artist / calligrapher. The sketch should be such that it does not, in any way, change the shape of the vehicle or affect the information and details assigned by the authorities which should be visible and clear. It is important to note here that placing stickers on the vehicle windows is prohibited. - Copy of vehicle ownership
Documents required for vehicle wrapping permit (commercial)
- Qatar ID copy of the applicant.
- Letter from the company or organisation requesting the placing of an advertisement (vehicle wrapping) on the vehicle.
- Completed vehicle advertisement permit license form.
- 2 x vehicle wrapping sketches (not less than 50% of the artwork must be in Arabic, and the rest can be in English) of all four sides of the vehicle on a single paper with dimensions clearly marked. The sketches must be stamped by the artist / calligrapher the sketch. The sketch should be such that it does not, in any way, change the shape of the vehicle or affect the information and details assigned by the authorities which should be visible and clear. - Copy of the commercial license, commercial registration and the computer card. (must be valid)
- Copy of vehicle ownership which must be in the name of the applicant’s company or organisation); in case the car is rented, a no objection letter from the rent-a-car company must be provided.
- The applicant must agree to place an advertisement mentioning the vehicle plate number, copy of the rent contract and commercial licence of the lessor (must be valid) stamped by the artist / calligrapher and a copy of the commercial license of the artist / calligrapher.
Procedure for private and commercial vehicle wrapping
- The completed vehicle wrapping permit form along with the other documents mentioned above must be submitted to Baladiya.
- Baladiya will then check all the documents and attest the vehicle wrapping form.
- The attested form and vehicle wrapping sketches must then be approved by the Department of Mechanical Inspection in the Industrial Area.
- After the sketches and attested form are approved, the vehicle can be wrapped.
How to cancel a vehicle wrapping permit
Documents required
- Copy of vehicle ownership.
- The original vehicle wrapping permit.
- Letter from the company or the organisation requesting the cancelling of
the vehicle permit (in case of commercial wrapping permit). - A photograph of the vehicle after removing the advertisement (vehicle wrapping).
- Letter from the Traffic Department in case the car has been sold.
