The Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME) in Qatar has strict laws about littering and not disposing of your trash properly and has announced hefty fines under Law No. 18 of 2017 on Public Hygiene.

Littering on roads and public spaces
Throwing tissue paper, waste, or empty packaging or spitting on roads or sidewalks, roads or public spaces.
- Penalty: QR 10,000
Throwing trees
Throwing the remanents of trees and gardens on roads and public spaces.
- Penalty: QR 10,000
Leaving garbage outside the designated container
Throwing or leaving waste, garbage bags or empty containers outside public shops or outside containers designated for this.
- Penalty: QR 10,000
Leaving food scraps in public places and beaches
Throwing or leaving food scraps in gardens, beaches, public spaces, or landscapes.
- Penalty: QR 10,000
Disposal of construction waste in non-designated places
Leaving, dumping, or disposal of construction, demolition waste, and solid excavation in non-designated areas.
- Penalty: QR 10,000
