The living legacy of Sardar Singh Vohra, who arrived in Kenya aboard a steamship in 1914, established a humble little bicycle repair and sales shop on River Road in 1930, worked on to become a business magnet in East Africa, and whose generations now own and run the Sarova Hotels Kenya.
The bicycle shop is still present at the same location on River Road, almost a century on, managed by the family as advice from Sardar Singh to never forget their roots no matter what greater heights they may touch in life and business.
