The ultimate beneficiary is the farmer. ICRAF works on governmental policy reform as well as on enlarging farmers technical options in direct collaboration with NGO’s, universities, regional and national research and development institutes. In all fieldsites ICRAF collaborates with national partners. Through its global coverage ICRAF contributes and has access to a global knowledge base and can offer solutions proven to be successful elsewhere. The building was constructed to house the administration and headquarters staff of the Council on a landscaped site adjoining the United Nations Environment Programme site in the outskirts of Nairobi. Great emphasis was laid on the landscaping of the site and its integration with roads and footpaths. The project consists of a 2-storey building containing individual offices for a range of senior, intermediate and secretarial staff. The complex also houses a 200-seat auditorium with simultaneous translation booths. Triad designed and supervised the project which was completed in 1990.
