Bradley Marongo, popularly known as “Mtall,” is making headlines in Kenya due to his remarkable height of 8 feet and size 47/48 shoes, which have made finding properly fitting footwear a lifelong challenge. Known as the tallest Gen Z in Kenya, Marongo has struggled to find shoes that accommodate his massive feet, but this problem has recently been addressed thanks to journalists Jeff Koinange and Patrick Igunza from Citizen TV.
During a recent episode, Koinange and Igunza took on the mission of finding shoes for Marongo. They revealed on air that they had managed to locate a pair of second-hand Adidas shoes in size 55. Koinange expressed his admiration for Marongo’s story, saying, “We were really touched by Bradley’s story. Finding regular shoes for him was nearly impossible.”
Igunza excitedly shared the news: “We’ve found some shoes for him. They’re second-hand, but they’re original Adidas, size 55.” He humorously added, “Let’s try these on and see if they fit. If they don’t, we’ll make adjustments until they do.”
Marongo, 27, has become a notable figure online, particularly on TikTok, where he has garnered a following of 15,000. His height and large feet have attracted significant attention, making him a known presence in places like Kangemi and a spectacle during anti-government protests. Despite his popularity, Marongo faces unique challenges, including unwanted attention and difficulty finding clothing that fits.
His custom-made bed cannot fully accommodate his height, and he often resorts to baggy clothing and second-hand markets for shoes. The recent gesture by Koinange and Igunza represents a significant step toward alleviating one of the many challenges Marongo faces daily.
