The Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC) determines the salary and benefits of County Executive Committee (CEC) Members, as per Article 230 (4) (a) of the Constitution.
The Third Remuneration and Benefits Review Cycle (2021/2022 – 2024/2025) is the basis for the current salary and benefits.
1. Salary of a County Executive Committee Member in Kenya
The SRC has frozen salary increments for 2024/2025, meaning CEC Members’ salaries remain the same as in 2023/2024.

2. Additional Benefits for County Executive Committee Members
(i) Official Car
- CEC Members are entitled to an official vehicle with an engine capacity of up to 2000cc.
- If an official car is unavailable, they receive a monthly commuter allowance of KES 24,000.
(ii) Medical Benefits
- CEC Members, their spouse, and up to four dependent children (under 25 years) receive medical cover:

(viii) Security
- Security is provided by the Inspector-General of Police.
- This benefit cannot be converted to cash.
(ix) Annual Leave Allowance
- KES 35,000 per annum.
- Leave days cannot be converted to cash.
