Rita Tinina, employed by NTV since the previous October, was found deceased in her Nairobi residence, located in the Kileleshwa district, on Sunday afternoon.
Her coworkers noted her absence at work, mentioning that she was unreachable by phone. Her body was discovered following a search initiated due to her unaccounted presence.

The reason for her death was initially uncertain. A representative of Tinina’s family, speaking from her residence, asked for privacy as they grapple with the abrupt loss of the journalist, indicating that further details would be disclosed in time.

Colleagues and friends have paid tribute to Tinina, praising her as a role model in the journalism field and for her commitment to mentoring emerging talent. She is also celebrated for her profound love for her family and country, and her remarkable professional dedication.
Her remains were transferred to the Umash Funeral Home in Nairobi.
