Sewage treatment

Sewage treatment is the treatment and disposal of human waste. Sewage is produced by all human communities. Treatment in urbanized areas is typically handled by centralized treatment systems. Alternative systems may use composting processes or processes that separate solid materials by settlement and then convert soluble contaminants into biological sludge and into gases such as carbon dioxide or methane.

Standard of Service

We acknowledge receipt of duly filled applications within seven (7) days). Thereafter, we issue Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) licenses within 45-90 days as stipulated in the Environmental Impact Assessment/Audit (EIA/EA) Regulations, 2003. Other licenses are issued as per the provisions of the specific regulation.
Cost of Service

Payment of a prescribed fee of 0.1% of the total cost of the project to a minimum of KSh.10,000 with no upper capping is required for the processing of an EIA license. Other fees are stipulated in the relevant regulation.
Customer Obligation

We advise persons intending to undertake development activities to apply for an EIA license at least three months prior to the date they intend to commence the project.
