Qatar: Request to Join the Labor Market for Those Residing for Non-Work Related Purposes (Family Residency). This service gives those residing in the State of Qatar under family residency the opportunity to join the labor market by submitting a request to the Ministry of Labour (MOL), thus changing the family residency to work residency. The process could either start with the new employer wishing to hire the worker or with the worker applying to join the labor market.
The request can be approved or rejected depending on whether certain conditions are met. If the approval is granted, the contract attestation procedure starts, the fees get paid, and the approval gets exported to the Ministry of Interior, where the procedure of changing the residency purpose gets completed.
