Paul Simba Arati (Orange Democratic Movement (ODM)) was elected governor of Kisii county in the August 9, 2022 election. Robert Onsare Monda (ODM) was elected deputy governor.
Arati defeated six other candidates, receiving 270,928 (68%) of the votes cast. His closest challenger was Ezekiel Machogu Ombaki (United Democratic Alliance (UDA)) with 82,104 (21%) votes.
