This is a List of Elected MCAs in Meru County 2022-2027. The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) registered 772,139 voters in the forty five wards and 434 voters in prisons in Meru county, for the August 9 2022 general election. The voters registered in prisons could only vote in the presidential election.
Kawira Mwangaza (Independent) was elected governor of Meru county in the August 9, 2022 election. Isaac Mutuma M’ethingia (Independent) was elected deputy governor.
Mwangaza defeated two other candidates, receiving 209,148 (42%) of the valid votes cast. Her challengers were Franklin Mithika Linturi (United Democratic Alliance (UDA)) with 183,859 (37%) votes and Kiraitu Murungi Devolution Empowerment Party (DEP) with 110,814 (22%). 65% turnout for the gubernatorial election in Meru, as per provisional IEBC results.
