Kenyan politician Kiunjuri Festus Mwangi was born on January 18, 1967. In Kieni, Nyeri County, he was born. He has occupied a number of governmental and political roles.
In 1994, Mwangi Kiunjuri earned a Bachelor of Education (Arts) from Moi University. In 1997, he was elected to the parliament, serving as the Democratic Party’s representative. In the elections of 2002, he kept his seat. In the 2007 Kenyan parliamentary election, he was chosen to represent Laikipia East Constituency as a member of the Party of National Unity. In 2013, he departed from his position.

Kiunjuri has also held a number of positions in the Kenyan government. In 2015, he succeeded Anne Waiguru as cabinet secretary for Devolution and Planning following her resignation due to corruption. Kiunjuri was named Cabinet Secretary for Agriculture by President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2018 after the Jubilee administration won the 2017 general elections. The post was terminated on January 14, 2020. He started The Service Party later that year. He was elected again to the Kenyan parliament in 2022, serving as the MP for the Laikipia East Constituency.
