List of Elected MCAs in Makadara Constituency 2022. Kenya’s Makadara seat is a Nairobi City County electoral seat. It is among the county’s seventeen constituencies. Prior to the 1997 elections, it was renamed as Bahati Constituency, but it was also known as Doonholm Constituency in 1963 and 1969. It includes of a few of Nairobi County’s center and southern regions. The constituency is 13 km² and is entirely contained within Nairobi City County. Before the 2013 elections, the boundaries of the present constituencies were changed. 189,536 people are living there, according to the 2019 census data.
Before relocating to the Othaya Constituency, Mwai Kibaki served as a Makadara MP and went on to become the president of Kenya. Gideon Kioko Mbuvi, who was elected in a 2010 by-election to succeed Dickson Wathika, whose 2007 election was ruled void due to “election irregularities,” was another candidate serving the constituency. Sonko later rose to the position of senator for Nairobi County in 2013, and he currently serves as governor of Kenya’s capital, Nairobi County.
