Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology, is a public university in Kenya. It is named after independence leader and Kenya’s first Vice-President Jaramogi Oginga Odinga, and father to 21st century politician Raila Odinga
The University is situated in Bondo town in Siaya county on Bondo-Usenge Road. The university has various schools namely: School of Business and Economics, School of Education, School of Agriculture, Food Security and Biodiversity, School of Engineering Sciences, School of Health Sciences, School of Humanities and Social Sciences, School of Informatics and Innovative Systems, School of Mathematics and Actuarial Science, School of Spatial Planning and Natural Resource Management.

Admission Procedures and Requirements for the Bachelor’s Degree
Enquiries for all Bachelor’s Degree programmes offered should be made to the Registrar (Academic Affairs), Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology, P. O. Box 210-40601, Bondo, Kenya.
The closing date for receiving applications for the Bachelor’s degree programmes shall be as determined by the Senate from time to time.
Minimum Entry Requirements for Bachelor’s Degree:
The entry requirements set out below are only minimum, and they in no way entitle an applicant to a place in the University. Applicants must:
Have the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education with a mean grade of C+ (C plus) passed at one sitting from at least seven subjects drawn from subject groupings as specified by the Kenya National Examinations Council or its equivalent.
Have one of the following combinations of passes in the Kenya Advanced Certificate of Education examination:
Hold a Diploma of a recognized institution with a “credit” pass or higher or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution in the relevant field of specialization acceptable to the Senate. Those with a “pass” diploma will be considered if they have at least two years relevant experience after graduation.
Hold a certificate from a recognized institution with a “credit” pass or higher or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution in the relevant field of specialization, acceptable to Senate
Have exceptional experiential knowledge and information
Meet additional or specific entry requirements as may be specified by the respective Department, School/Faculty offering the programme.

What are my course requirements?
There will be a one-week orientation program where you will be informed about your courses. Also, check on the website: www.jooust.ac.ke . Click on “download admission letter”. On the right side of the page at the bottom, you will be able to the special school requirements and download as appropriate.
How should I know the programme I qualify for?
For you to qualify for a programme, you MUST first meet the minimum academic qualifications, then at the time of consideration the capacity required should have not been exceeded. Sometimes you may meet the minimum requirements but fail to be considered because the class number required is already reached.
