How to Start or stop auto reporting on chrome

Allowing Chrome to send us automatic reports helps us prioritize what to fix and improve in Chrome. auto reporting on chrome These reports can include things like when Chrome crashes, how much memory you’re using, and some personal information. Google Chrome is one of the most popular browsers used for computers and Smartphones. However there are many settings to manage warnings and browser privacy but many times it is tough to figure out the sudden errors and crashes caused in browser. Allowing Chrome to send automatic reports help to analyze and figure out what to fix and improve in Chrome. These reports contain data like when Chrome crashes and how much storage you typically use. If you want to start or stop automatically reporting errors and crashes, here we will provide you some instructions to do that.

By following the below given steps you may enable or disable automatically reporting errors and crashes in chrome on your computer and Smartphone.

You can start or stop allowing these reports any time.

On Computer -Automatically send usage statistics and crash reports to Google

  1. On your computer, open Chrome.
  2. At the top right, click More More and then Settings.
  3. Under “You and Chrome,” select Sync and Chrome services.
  4. Turn on or off Help improve Chrome’s features and performance.

On Chromebook

  1. At the bottom right, select the time..
  2. Select Settings .
  3. At the bottom, click Advanced.
  4. Under “Privacy and security,” turn Automatically send diagnostic and usage data to Google on or off.

Note: If you’re using your Chromebook at work or school, you might not be able to change this setting. For more help, contact your administrator.

On Android

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Chrome app Chrome.
  2. To the right of the address bar, tap More More and then Settings.
  3. Under “Advanced,” tap Privacy.
  4. Tap Usage and crash reports.
  5. Turn the setting on or off.

On iPhone & iPad

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Chrome app Chrome.
  2. To the right of the address bar, tap More More and then Settings.
  3. Under “Advanced,” tap Privacy.
  4. Tap Usage and crash reports.
  5. Turn the setting on or off.

What these reports include 

If Chrome crashes, some personal information might be included in the report. These reports have:

  • Memory related to the crash, which may include page contents, payment information, and passwords
  • Your Chrome settings
  • Extensions you have installed
  • The web page you were visiting at the time of the crash
  • Your device’s operating system, manufacturer, and model
  • The country where you’re using Chrome
