How to Request to Change Personal Information Through Metrash2. This service allows the public to change the name or the date of birth online using the Ministry of Interior Metrash2 application, without visiting the Name Changing Committee at the General Directorate of Passports.

Online Instructions

• Log in to Metrash2 mobile app entering QID number and password.
• Click on “Residency” then “Change Personal Info”.

To Submit Applications

• Click on “Apply Applications” window, then enter your QID number or that of your family member, and click on the search icon.
• Select type of required service (Change Name, Change Date of Birth) and fill in required details.
• Attach the following documents:
  • Written letter explaining the reason for change.
  • Copy of old passport before modification and copy of current passport after modification.
  • Birth certificate authenticated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
• Complete the application to receive the message “Your application has been registered successfully”.

To Track and Follow Up on Applications

• Click on “Follow up Applications” window and enter QID of applicant or owner.
• After receiving approval message, an approved form of the newspaper advertisement will be sent to the email.

To Upload Newspaper Memo

• Click on “Upload Newspaper Memo” window, and select the application.
• Choose newspaper and language according to the nationality registered in the identification documents.
• Fill out required data and attach copy of the advertisement, specifying its start date, and you will receive a message stating that you have completed the process.

Offline Instructions

• Download and fill out paper form.
• Attach the required documents explained in important notes section in the form according to each request.

Additional Information

• Applications for children under the age of 7 do not require a newspaper advertisement.
• The announcement is made in the newspapers accredited in the State of Qatar according to the language in which the document of the residency was obtained is written.
• The completion of the service requires 14 days from the date of publication of the advertisement in the newspaper.
• The application is submitted from within the State of Qatar only.
