How to Replace a Sri Lankan Birth Certificate. Birth Certificate Valid Forever Obtain the application from any nearer Divisional Secretariat. Complete the application and submit to the Divisional Secretariat of the area in which the place of birth is occurred.  Affix the required fee with the application form by stamps. If you like to obtain the birth certificate by post, submit a stamped envelop with the application. Refer the application to the Divisional Secretariat of the area in which the place of birth is occurred.

1. Refer the application to the Divisional Secretariat relevant to the area where the birth occurred.
2. Application can obtain from any Divisional Secretariat.
3. Fees chargeable
   1. Where the date of registration or the no. of the entry is given the fee for one copy of the certificate is Rs. 100.00
   2. Where the date of registration or the no. of the entry is not given and a search of registers not exceeding two years is involved fee for one copy of the certificate is Rs. 200.00

4. Required fee should pay to the Divisional Secretariat.
5. Duly filled application should submit to the Divisional Secretariat.
6. If you like to obtain the certificate of birth by post, submit a stamped envelop with the application.
7. If the birth is registered a birth certificate will be send and if the birth is not registered a letter to the effect will be send.

Fees to Replace a Sri Lankan Birth Certificate

• If the number of the certificate of birth & the registered date is known Rs.25.00
• If don’t know the number of the certificate of birth or the registered date,
  • for search of birth registers for period of 03 months Rs.50.00
  • for search of birth registers for period of 02 years Rs.100.00
