- Aged 18 or over – you can still apply if you are 17, as long as you turn 18 by 1 October
- Available for a minimum of 10 shifts during the tournament
- Able to speak English

No, it is not necessary to have previous volunteering experience. We evaluate applicants on a number of different criteria.
You can apply to volunteer at the same event as someone else; however, it is not guaranteed that you will both be selected to become volunteers for that event or, if selected, be assigned the same role and venue.
Volunteering is a non-paid position. The FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ Volunteer Programme offers the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be part of the largest sporting event in the world. You’ll also gain new skills and meet new people from all over the globe. Volunteers at the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ will also receive limited edition items, such as uniforms.
Upon completing your minimum number of shifts, you will be able to download a certificate from the volunteer portal.
We continue to follow the guidelines from Qatar’s Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) to ensure volunteering at the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ is as safe as possible.

Yes, your personal data is stored and maintained in a database in Switzerland or in the European Economic Area (EEA), and in Australia and the country where the LOC is located. The database is operated by FIFA or on FIFA’s behalf.
The majority of volunteer roles will be located away from the pitch, so it will not be possible to watch the matches during your shifts. Furthermore, as a volunteer, your focus is to support the delivery of the tournament.
