How to automatically fill out forms with Google Chrome

You can let Chrome browser take care of some things you do repeatedly can save you a whole lot of time you can automatically fill out forms with Google Chrome. For example, filling in long forms. If you automatically fill out forms with Google Chrome, you can save so much time. For example, your contact or payment details.

According to Google, Chrome never shares your info without your permission. This makes it safe to use for information such as credit card details.

Autofill is a free form filler for Chrome that is designed to automatically fill out web forms on page load. At the moment you load a web form, it will automatically fill out the fields with your predefined values. All that’s left for you to do is hit send.

To begin doing so, you’ll need to sign in to your Chrome browser first using your Google account. Once you’re signed in, add the Autofill extension and enable it. Just click the link below to download, add and enable the extension to your browser.

Automatically fill out forms with Chrome on a computer.

  1. On your computer, open Chrome.
  2. At the top right, click the three vertical dots and then settings.
  3. Under “People” section, you select what you want to add. For example, Address.
  4. Click Add and fill out the form. Save.
  5. Make sure you turn on the Auto-fill switch.
  6. To edit the info, just click the three vertical dots to the right of the card or address, and then Edit.
  7. To delete: click the vertical dots to the right of the address, click Remove. You might need to wait a few minutes for your address to be removed.

For Card info, select the Card option and follow the above steps.

Automatically fill out forms with Chrome on Android.

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Chrome app.
  2. To the right of the address bar, tap More
  3. Tap Auto-fill and payments.
  4. Tap Addresses or Cards.
  5. Add, edit, or delete info:
  • Add: At the bottom, tap Add. When you’re done entering your info, at the bottom, tap Done.
  • Edit: Tap the entry. When you’re done changing your info, at the bottom, tap Done.
  • Delete: Tap the entry. At the top, tap Delete.

Automatically fill out forms with Chrome on iPhone or iPad.

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open the Chrome app Chrome.
  2. To the right of the address bar, tap More More and then Settings.
  3. Tap Auto-fill forms.
  4. Edit or delete an address:
  • Edit: Tap the address. At the top right, tap Edit. When you’re done changing your info, at the top right, tap Done.
  • Delete: At the top right, tap Edit. Select the address. Tap Delete and then Done.
  • Sync your payment info to Google Pay

On Computer

Add or change payment and address info you saved in Chrome

  1. On your computer, open Chrome.
  2. At the top right, click Profile Profile and then Payment methods Payment methods or Addresses and more Addresses and more.
  3. Add, edit, or delete info: 
    • Add: Next to “Payment methods” or “Addresses,” click Add. This will save your info to Chrome on your device.
    • Edit: To the right of the card or address, click More More and then Edit.
    • Delete: To the right of the card or address, click More More and then Remove. 

If you add, edit, or delete an address and you’ve turned on sync, your changes will show up on your other devices.If your payment method is saved in Google Pay, you will still need to edit or delete it in Google Pay.

Save your payment info to Google Pay

If you’re signed in to Chrome with your Google Account, you can ask Google Pay to make your payment information available across your devices so you can quickly fill out forms. You can also add your payment info individually to each of your devices. 

When you’re signed-in to Chrome with your Google Account and enter your payment method into a form online, Chrome may ask if you want to save your payment info in Google Pay. If you accept, your payment info will be saved in Google Pay. If Google Pay doesn’t support your payment method, Chrome may offer to save it locally on your device. 

Payment methods saved in Google Pay will show up as suggestions in most forms you fill out online. 

If Chrome does not offer to save your payment info in Google Pay, learn how to fix issues with info saved to Chrome.

Edit, or delete a credit card in Google Pay

  1. Go to pay.google.com.
  2. On the left, click Payment methods.
  3. Find the card you want to edit or delete.
    • Edit: Below the card, click Edit.
    • ​Delete: Below the card, click Remove. 

Stop saving payment info to Google Pay

To stop syncing payment info to Google Pay:

  1. On your computer, open Chrome.
  2. At the top right, click More More and thenSettings.
  3. At the top, under “People,” click Sync and Google services.
  4. Under “Sync,” click Manage what you sync.
  5. Turn off Sync everything.
  6. Turn off Payment methods and addresses using Google Pay.

If you’re signed-in but sync is not enabled, Chrome may still offer to save your payment info to Google Pay.

When you sign in to your Google Account through a Google service, like Gmail, you’ll be automatically signed in to Chrome. If you don’t want to ever sign in to Chrome, you can turn off Chrome sign-in.If Chrome doesn’t offer to save a card anymore, learn how to fix issues with info saved to Chrome.

Stop offering to save payment and contact info to Chrome

You can tell Chrome not to save your payment and contact info on your device and not to offer to save your info.

  1. On your computer, open Chrome.
  2. At the top, under “People”, click Payment methods Payment methods or Addresses and more Addresses and more.
    • To stop saving payment info, turn off Save and fill payment methods.
    • To stop saving addresses and contact info, turn of Save and fill addresses.

Chrome doesn’t suggest your saved info

If you don’t get suggestions when you fill out a form, either:

  • The website might not be secure enough to get this info from Chrome.
  • If the website is secure, Chrome might not detect certain fields in the form.

Delete your saved Autofill form info

To delete your addresses, payment methods, and other saved info in Chrome at the same time, follow these steps:

  1. On your computer, open Chrome.
  2. At the top right, click More More.
  3. Click More tools and then Clear browsing data.
  4. Choose a time range, like “Last hour” or “All time”.
  5. Under “Advanced,” choose Autofill form data.

On Android

Add, edit, or delete your info

If you’ve turned sync on in Chrome, when you change your info, your changes will show up on your other devices. Learn how to choose what info is synced on other devices.

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Chrome app Chrome.
  2. To the right of the address bar, tap More More and then Settings and then Autofill and payments.
  3. Tap Addresses and more or Payment methods.
  4. Add, edit, or delete info:
    • Add: At the bottom, tap Add address or Add card. When you’ve entered your info, at the bottom, tap Done.
    • Edit: Tap the entry. When you’re done changing your info, at the bottom, tap Done.
    • Delete: Tap the entry. At the top, tap Delete Delete.

Sync your payment info to Google Pay

If you’ve turned on sync for payment methods and addresses in Chrome and buy something online, Chrome might ask if you want to save your payment info in Google Pay. If you accept, your card will be saved in Google Pay. If Google Pay doesn’t support your payment method, Chrome may offer to save it on your device.

  1. Go to pay.google.com.
  2. Tap Payment methods.
  3. Choose an option.
    • Add: Tap Add payment method. If you don’t see the option to add a new card, go to play.google.com/store/account to add a payment method.
    • Edit: Below the card, tap Edit.
    • Delete: Below the card, tap Remove.

Stop syncing payment info to Google Pay

If you’re syncing credit cards and addresses in Chrome, Google Pay will still store your credit card info.

Most cards saved in Google Pay will show up as suggestions when you’re filling out forms online. To stop syncing payment info to Google Pay:

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Chrome app Chrome.
  2. To the right of the address bar, tap More More and then Settings.
  3. At the top, tap the name of your account.
  4. Tap Sync.
  5. Turn off Sync everything.
  6. Uncheck “Cards and addresses using Google Pay.”

Stop saving info to Chrome

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Chrome app Chrome.
  2. To the right of the address bar, tap More More and then Settings.
  3. Tap Autofill and payments.
  4. Tap Payment methods or Addresses and more.
    • To stop saving payment info, turn off Save and fill payment methods.
    • To stop saving addresses and contact info, turn off Save and fill addresses.
