Rabbies is a fatal viral disease affecting humans and animals..the incubation period (period between infection and manifestation of clinical symptoms)is usually between 20 to 60 days but in fulminant form of rabbies it may take years.. episodes of rabbies have been reported Even more than ten years after a bite or a scratch from a rabid animal, there has been no scientific explanation for this..that’s why people are advised to seek medical attention immediately they are bitten by an unvaccinated animal..the incubation period varies depending on the location of the bite and the volume of the virus in the saliva…let me explain this..infected persons exhibit rabbies signs once the virus gets into the brain and multiply.. meaning if you are bitten on the toe and am bitten on the arm,i may get rabbies before you..the virus after being deposited on the bite travels through the lymph vessels to the spinal cord and then to the brain where it multiplies and overwhelms the system.
