Elimu Sacco was registered in 1972 by employees from the Ministry of Education. The Sacco affairs are directed by a Board of Directors (9 members) and overseen by the Supervisory Committee both whom report to the Annual Delegates Meeting.
The Sacco’s membership is drawn from different fields namely:
1. Ministry of Education and TSC employees
2. Employees of different government Ministries and parastatals
3. Employees of educational institutions
4. NGOs employees
5. Self employees
