This is a List of Elected MCAs in Murang’a County 2022-2027. The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) registered 620,929 voters in the thirty five wards and 98 voters in prisons in Muranga county, for the August 9 2022 general election. The voters registered in prisons could only vote in the presidential election.
Irungu Kang’ata (United Democratic Alliance (UDA)) was elected governor of Muranga county in the August 9, 2022 election. Stephen Mburu Munania (UDA) was elected deputy governor.
Kang’ata defeated six other candidates, receiving 256,561 (61%) of the valid votes cast. His closest challenger was Jamleck Irungu Kamau (Jubilee Party (JP)) with 91,164 (22%) votes. 67% turnout for the gubernatorial election in Muranga, as per provisional IEBC results.
