The directorate of counter violent extremism and organized crime is the newly created directorate in the Inspector General’s office; this was purely IG’s initiative to enable his office to come up with strategies to counter transnational crimes, in collaboration with National and International partners for security and safety of the entire Kenyan citizens
Counter Violent Extremism and Organized Crimes are defined as act of violence that is dangerous to human life or potentially destructive of critical infrastructure or key resources committed by a group or individual based and operating entirely within Kenya territory, and beyond.
This has created concerned in national and international agenda, presenting considerable challenges to policy makers, researchers and security agents combating these crimes. Anti-Narcotics, Anti-Human Trafficking, Anti- Counterfeit and Contraband, Arms Trafficking, Money Laundering, Cyber-Crimes etc It has been that terrorists directs violence against noncombatants and designed to instill fear in a target audience.
