A Heat Pump is an energy-efficient system that moves heat from one place to another to either warm or cool an environment. In vehicles—especially electric cars—heat pumps extract heat from the outside air, even in cold conditions, and transfer it into the cabin, reducing the energy load on the battery compared to traditional resistive heaters. Heat pumps can also operate in reverse to provide cooling. In both automotive and building HVAC systems, heat pumps offer sustainable, cost-effective climate control by leveraging existing thermal energy instead of generating it from scratch.
