EV-DV (Evolution-Data and Voice) is a mobile telecommunications standard developed as part of the CDMA2000 family, designed to deliver both high-speed data and voice services over a single radio channel. Unlike EV-DO, which focused solely on data, EV-DV aimed to integrate improved voice quality with faster internet access in one streamlined system. It supported data rates comparable to EV-DO while maintaining backward compatibility with existing CDMA networks. However, due to the widespread adoption of EV-DO and the rapid shift toward 3G and 4G technologies, EV-DV was never widely deployed and was eventually phased out.
