Co-operative Bank of Kenya customers will now be able to withdraw up to Ksh60,000 per day from the Automated Teller Machines (ATM) across the country following a review.

The Bank informed its customers that the move was informed by the current economic times and the need to address the customer’s needs.

Previously, customers could only withdraw a maximum of Ksh40,000 per day from the ATMs.

“Dear client, for your convenience, we have increased the total amount of money you can withdraw on our ATMs from Sh40,000 to Sh60,000 per day,” read the bank’s statement in part.

The new directive comes in handy for Kenyans who require large sums of money to conduct business and pay bills among others.

Additionally, the move will offer convenience to the millions of Co-op bank customers as they will no longer have to wait in bank queues to withdraw amounts between Ksh40,000 to Ksh60,000.

The last review for ATM withdrawal limits was done in February 2015.

At the time, customers were only able to withdraw a maximum of Ksh20,000 per day. It was explained that the move was aimed at making the bank more efficient in addressing the needs of other customers.

“Reduction of customer numbers inside the branches will free staff time to provide more personal attention to customers, especially those who require financial advice,” the bank stated then.

Currently, the bank has over 608 ATMs across the country.

The bank also has over 9 million account holders who access banking services around its over 100 branches across the country.
